My Sunday Highlight: Co-Mission Sunday

The first Sunday of every year in our Co-Mission Network is called “Co-Mission Sunday”. Senior Pastors and Planters exchange pulpits for the day across London. This year all were given Matthew 9:35-38 to preach. I was at New Life Church Catford this afternoon. Zim is the Pastor and Planter and Remi the Co-Pastor. It was a joint venture between Co-Mission and Grace Church Blockley. They are 18 months in since launch, a diverse church family of about 35. I was able to share news about our story and our plans to move to NE London this week to begin the new church plant. Matthew 9v35-38 is both encouraging and challenging of our need to Speak the Gospel, Have compassion on the Lost and Pray to our Father to send out workers if we are going to reach London for Christ. It was lovely to be able to have conversations with the church family at NLCC and pray with them. Co:Mission Sunday is also an opportunity to help members in our congregations understand a little more about what Co-Mission do, share news and encouragements and pray for the wider network. Our home church – Grace Church Worcester Park had Tim Saunders from Hope Church Sutton and our Senior Pastor Sam was at Hope Church. It was a delight hearing news and seeing God work in extraordinary ways through very ordinary people. Praise the Lord for Co-Mission and let’s pray many more churches will be planted in London for the salvation of many to the glory of God!
